Acropolis, Athens
    Acropolis is the one of the must not missed attractions in Athens. This attracts millions
of tourists from all around the world. Acropolis means upper city, as the name implies this
is a archaeological site on the flat topped hill, located around 150 meters above the city of Athens.
This is the place where Greek civilization began. There are several way to reach to this and
you get souvenir stands , restaurants and cafes by the side of the road. Visitors can see a
collection of temples most were dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

    The Parthenon and other majority of the buildings on the Acropolis were built in the fifth century BC by Pericles. The Parthenon is the main structure at the rock of Acropolis and consider as a one of the architectural wonders in the world. This was designed by the architects Kallikrates and Iktinos and it took 15 years to complete this. A massive statue of Athena was housed in side of the Parthenon.
