Traveling by bus is a cheaper way to travel in Bangkok. Rates are starting from 6 baht and vary depending upon the distance and the type of service. Ordinary busses are in red or blue strip has minimum fare rates. Blue air con busses and Euro busses are comfortable and charges are higher. Micro busses takes passengers only to the seating capacity and has flat rate of 25 baht.

Sky train operates in two main lines, Sukhumwit and Silom crossing at Siam station. This Service started on 5th December 1999 hours are operates from 6.00 am to mid night. This has become very popular among the locals specially because of no affect from traffic jam in streets. You can get a normal ticket valid for 90 minutes. Taxi Service in Bangkok
There are plenty of taxies available in Bangkok and the cost is reasonably ok. Always try to get official taxies which are equipped with meters. Those will mention the word "TAXI METER" on the roof. Any way you need to check the meter is reset also. If the driver is refusing to do so, no problem you can get down and get a another one. Flag down charge is around 35 Bart for the distance less than 2 km. Additional charges may apply for express ways and toll ways. There are some taxi ranks also available in the city. Some times the driver may suggest you to visit various places, and its advisable not to go unless you are very familiar about the city. Its always recommended to carry the business card of your hotel or the relevant destination place you are traveling.
