Traveling in Barcelona Metro is safe & cheap way top expore the city. You can easily find metro map
from most of the guide books and they are displayed in the trains and the stations.

Barcelona metro has a long history and it was start in 1926. Many
lines were added in later on and now these lines are operated by TMB
(Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona ) and FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya).

Barcelona Metro Tickets:
When you are planning to buy Barcelona Metro tickets, its cheaper to
but multiple tickets, rather than a single ones. Individual journey ticket
cost for 1.40 Euro but valid for one time ride in a metro or bus.
If you buy T-10 tickets, you can have 10 rides and each ride cost around
half of the individual ticket ride. Other advantage is you can use this ticket
for one journey which includes both metro and bus rides. But its provided
that the total journey is less than 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Same time you can share this ticket with other people. even you can pass this
to another person, once you pass the ticketing barrier.
There are zone structure associates with these tickets. Usually the main city center is under
zone one. So if you buy Zone 1 T10 card, then you can cover most of the
prominent locations.
If you want to have unlimited rides in a day, then you can buy T-Dia card.
That allow you to travel in metro, train and the buses.
There are ticket validating machines in the stations and the buses. When you
put the T10 card to the validating machine, it also display the number of journeys
available in its display. Metro tickets can be purchased from the station ticketing
counters or from the ticketing machines.
Barcelona Metro Travel Cards:
There are 2 , 3 , 4 & 5day travel cards are available for you, but those will
be cheaper only if you are using the metro many times.
