Buenos Aires Metro(Subway) system locally known as Subte, means underground train.
This is the quickest way of traveling in Buenos Aires even in rush hours. Buenos Aires Subway
was started in year 1913 and one of the oldest subway system in the world.
Under ground stations are marked above the ground with lines and the directions.
Buenos Aires Metro Lines and Destinations:
Buenos Aires Metro system consist of several lines call A,B,C,D, E & H. Each line displays with the
diffrent color in the metro maps.
Line A - Light - Blue From Plaza de Mayo to Carabobo
Line B - Red - Federico Lacroze-Callao
Line C- Blue- Plaza Constitución-Diagonal Norte
Line D - Green-Catedral-Tribunales
Line E- Purple-Plaza Constitución-Gral. Urquiza
Line H- Yellow- Once-Caseros
Line F,G,I are under planning currently.
Buenos Aires Metro Fare and Tickets:
Subte fare is 1.10. You can transfer at exchange points. You can purchase multi use ticket
call SubtePass. You can buy tickets from the ticket offices located in stations. Multi use Subte Pass
can be top up with cash or bank cards. You need to validate
the ticket with the card readers available before entering to the platform.
