Copenhagen Transportation
   
Since Copenhagen is relatively a small city, you can reach most of the city attractions by
just walking. But this city has extensive public transport system. The public transportation of
Copenhagen is supported by Buses, Metro and Trains. Taxis and the renting of cars are the
other options. You can see that many people use bicycles also for their daily transporation.
Copenhagen public transport system is a very clean and safe way to travel
and it frequent also. This system operates from early morning to midnight.
Copenhagen Public Transportation Fares and Tickets:
As most of the European cities, Copenhagen has zone system and fare depends on
the number of zones. Public transportation tickets can be purchased from vending machines ,
buses or from kiosks. The cheapest ticket is a two zone ticket and it will allow one hour riding time.
There are discount cards, Klippehort also available and valid for 10 trips.
Tourists can buy Copenhagen Card, which allows free ride in buses, metro and train in the city and
free admission to some of the city attractions.
Copenhagen Trains:
Copenhagen commuter trains are known as S-Trains ( S-log). These trains operates from
Copenhagen central station and connects with the most of the areas. Copenhagen airport
also connected to this network. Copenhagen rail network operate by Danish State Railways -
DSB.
There are direct trains from Copenhagen to other European destinations.
Copenhagen Buses:
Copenhagen buses reach the destination, which are not covered by the trains and metro.
There are few types of buses call yellow bus, A buses ( yellow and red) and S buses ( yellow
and blue). Copenhagen bus stops are easily identified from the yellow signs.
There are night bus services available from the mid night to the morning. Those bus numbers starts
with the letter "N".
