Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Chinese
New Year:
Chinese new year takes
place either January or February beginning from the first day of Chinese lunar
calendar. This is also a family event and lots of celebrations happens in Kuala
Lumpur than through out Malaysia. Visitors can witness lots of parades, dances
and fire works.
Federal
Territory Day:
This is to commemorate
the declaration of Federal Territory on 1st February. A day long celebrations
happens through out the city.
Thaipusam:
This Hindu festival
starts with procession which carries the statue of Load Subramaniam. Visitor
can see devotee dancing with Kavadi and some are hanging with metal hooks
attached to their bodies.
Malaysia
Megasale Carnival:
This Malaysian shopping
festival now becoming very popular around the region. This is held three times
a year on March, August and December.

Wesak Day:
This is to celebrate
the birth, enlightment and the death of Load Buddha. Holds in the month of May.
Food &
Fruit Fiesta Malaysia:
This celebrations held
in the month of July and visitors can taste the authentic Malaysian cuisine.
National
Day:
Malaysian independent
day celebrations happens on 31st of August. Whole country get decorated and
number of parades and shows held throughout the country.
Deepavali:
This Hindu festival of
light occurs in the month of October or November. This is to celebrate the
victory of good over evil. Devotees gathers to Hindu Kovils and Hindu houses
get decorated.
Hari
Raya Aidil Fitri:
This is a Muslim
festival celebrate at the end of fasting month. Muslims do prayers in mosques
and well-wishers are invited to Muslim houses.
Christmas:
The city get festival
mood for the Christmas and lots of decorations can be seen through out the
country.
