Lisbon Busses:
Lisbon local busses covers almost all the city locations and suburbs. Its advisable
to get a bus map before you plan your journey. Lisbon bus system usually operates from
6.00 am to mid night and there are night buss service also available.
City limit transportation is divided to five zones and charges depends on how many zones
you are traveling.
There are special tourist bus service operated by Lisbon bus and tram company ( call Carris).
You can buy tickets in advance and enjoy the ride by open top panoramic busses. Most popular tours are Carris Tour and Hills Tour. Visitors can get more information by

Lisbon metro system:
Lisbon metro system offers convenient and inexpensive way for traveling through
the city. Metro system has over 40 stations, covering most part of the city. Travel
cards available for 10 trip, one day or multiple day basis. Single journey tickets
also available. Lisbon underground operates from 6.30 am in the morning to 1.00 am in
night. Please note that metro system is crowded in rush hours. Some times you may
find metro stations as art galleries, visitors can enjoy Art deco, sculptures, paintings
and various art work there.

Lisbon train system:
The city of Lisbon connects with the other parts of the country via a rail network.
It also possible to travel outside destinations such as Spain and France.
The three main rail stations are Santa Apolónia, Barreiro and Gare do Oriente.
Lisbon train network is operated by a state body call Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, commonly known as CP.
Rail tickets are available at the railway stations ticketing offices or the ticketing
machines and travelers get concession on purchasing return tickets. Please note that
fine will be imposed for traveling without a ticket.
Lisbon Taxies:
Taxies are the convenient but expensive way of traveling. Lisbon taxies are equip with meters
and charge depends on the distance of travel. Please note that additional charge may apply for traveling in mid night, week ends and holidays. There is always a standard flag down charge of 2 Euros. Some times you may stuck in middle of the
traffic jam also. Taxies are easily identified with the word TAXI mention on top of them.
Lisbon Ferries:
The ferry service crossing the Tagus river is popular among the locals and the service is
operated by a company Transtejo. They operates tourist cruses also and visitors can have
enjoyable time there. This is a best option to avoid the heavy bridge traffic during rush hour.
Lisbon car Rent:
If you have your own plan for the journey, you can rent car. There are several car renting agencies available to choose. But keep in mind that city traffic is the major difficulty you will face.
Walking in Lisbon:
Its convenient to cover some parts of the city by walking.
