Lisbon Tourist Information

The city of Lisbon( Lisboa) is the capitol of Portugal, located on the north bank of the River Tagus. This is the largest city of Portugal also. Since this is a historical city, visitors can visit and see many ancient attractions around the city. You will find number of 17th century streets and churches in the upper town call Bairro Alto. Most of the city area can be explore by walking and there are enough public transportation facilities also. It’s better to purchase travel cards if you are planning to stay more days. They will provide free rides by busses and metro system.

Lisbon is a year around tourist destination and climate doesn't go for extremes. It has hot summers and rain in winter times. If you are coming to Lisbon from overseas, flying is the best option. There are trans also available from near by countries.

One of the other attraction that the city of Lisbon has is, its close proximity to the beaches. Those sandy beaches are attract visitors as well as locals also. Beaches are clean and ideal for sun bathing. Those get full packed in summer time.
