Visitors may find that Madrid is a city with convenient transportation facilities.

Madrid has a good metro system and this is the quickest way of transportation. Its 10 subway lines connects various city locations. Gaps in the main transportation lines are filled by cercanias- regional trains. This underground train system has over 120 trains and some times they are fully packed. Tickects can be purchased from the stations.

Madrid busses cover almost all the areas in the city and suburbs and can be used to fill the gap in the metro system. Bus route maps are displayed in most of the bus stops. Usual Madrid bus service is from 5.30 am to 23.30 pm and there are selected night bus services is also available. If you are interested in sight seeing there are number of shuttle bus services available in the city.

Charges may go high in peak seasons and better to do advance booking to avoid over charge. Remember that you may face difficulties because of traffic and parking issues. Since Madrid has very strict parking rules, always concern about your parking. Most of the buildings provides under ground parking slots and on road spaces are also available.
