Malta is a Mediterranean country located around 100km away from Sicily. This
covers a area of 316 square km and total population is around 400,000. Valletta
is the capitol of Malta. Malta is 17 miles in length and 9 miles in width.
Maltese islands consist of three main sister islands call Malta, Gozo and
Comino. There are few other small islands such as Filfla, Cominotto and St
Pauls Islands.
You can visit Malta by plane and there are flights available from UK, London,
Italy, France and Spain. If you are interested, you can visit by sea from
Italy. You get year round sunshine in Malta and many archaeological sites to
see. There are special events through out the year in Malta and visitor
activities includes golf, horse- riding, water sports, art and music theaters,
casinos and many more things. It said that Malta has 360 churches spread over
the island. Malta has many sandy beaches and ideal for swimming, diving and sun
bathing.
Malta's economy is depends on tourism, ship repair and building, electronics
and some exports such as machinery. Malta's agriculture products includes
grapes, potatoes, wheat and cauliflower.
Malta is a republic and has parliament system with a president. Malta is a
member of the European Union also.
