Empire State Building:
Empire State Building is the most prominent building in New York. This skyscraper is located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Empire State Building has 102 floors and visited by two million people in every year.

Construction of Empire State Building was completed in year 1931 and remained as the world tallest building(1253 ft) for around four decades. Still this is consider as the tallest building in New York City.



History of the Empire State Building in Brief:
Empire State Building was design by Gregory Johnson (Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates). Construction work was started in 1930 and completed in 1931. That was the time of the Great Depression started and American real estate market also collapsed. After several hard years this became a profitable building in 1950's.

Empire State Building Observatory:
From the Empire State Building Observatory, you can take 360 degree view of the surrounding. On a clear day visitors can see up to 80 miles from here.

The 86th floor Observatory is located above 1050 feet and achieved easily by high speed elevators. High powered binoculars are available in this floor and also handicap accessible. You can buy some souvenirs also from here.
You need to purchase a additional ticket for the 102nd floor Observatory.

Empire State Building gets new look on holidays and special observances. This get illuminated with lights on those times.
