The currency used in
Rome is Euro and credit cards not accepeted by some places. So please check it
before you purchase goods nad services. ATMs are available in most of the
public places and most of them have English menus. Its recomend to withdraw
enogh money for week ends in weekdays, because some times bank networks fails
in weekends. Usual banking hours in Rome is 8.30am to 1.30pm and 3.00 pm tp
4pm. Some banks opens on Saturday also.

Tipping in Rome is not
a must and upto the client to decide. Usualy hotels and resturents add 15%
service charge, but usualy visitors leave some tips to the waiter if the
service is upto the satisfaction. If you are paying in credit cards, you can
leave small cash as a tip.

Smoking in public
places are prohibited in Rome and subjected to fine up to 275 Euros.
Telephones
& Internet in Rome
Visitors can use public
telephones with coins and phone cards and some accpet credit cards. Calling
from hotels is bit expensive. Internet cafes are also becoming popular in Rome
now.
Postal
Service in Rome
Rome post offices are
open from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm in week days and 8.30 am to 1.00pm in week ends.
Some post offices ( Roma Quirinale in Via del Quirinale and Roma branch no. 047
in Via di Porta Angelica, 23 ) are open on Sundays also. Priority Postal
service is available in Rome with higher charge so letters will be deliver in
24 hours throughout the Italy. Visitors can change their money from post
offices also and they take some commission on that.
