Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai
The Oriental Pearl Tower got it name because it was design to feel that "some pearls are
in a dropping array". This is the main communicational and TV tower in Shanghai area and designed with with 11 spheres, big and small in size. Those spheres are supported by
three main columns running from the bottom to top.
Oriental Pearl Tower is 468 m tall and completed in year 1995. This located in
Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River. If you visit the Bund area, this tower
is located in opposite.
People can visit the observation platform of the Pearl Tower located in the large spherical area and
get the panoramic view of the surrounding. Climbing up will be supported by
six elevators located in. Other than the radio,and TV transmission, this tower has
restaurant, shopping areas, hotel and many entertainment facilities.
