Yu Yuan Garden
Yu Yuan Garden in Shanghai invites you to a visit to the Ming Dynasty.
This garden was build during the Ming Dynasty time, around 400 years ago. This extends the land area of two hectares.
Yu Yuan Garden was located close to the Bund, by the center of the old Shanghai city.
Yu Yuan Garden History:
Yu Yuan Garden was build around year 1559. This was a private garden, which is a gift from
Pan Yunduan to his parents to spent their old age. This garden was damaged in
19th century Opium war period. Yu Yuan Garden went though several renovations during 1950's and
opened to public from early 1960's.
There are many temples and halls in this site. You will see many ponds, trees and rocks around them.
During your visit to Yu Yuan Garden, Don't forget to feed the fish, most of the visitors like to do so.
You will the the Exquisite Jade Rock, located by the Yuhua Hall. This is one of the main Jade rocks in the
area.
