The city of Shanghai has subtropical climate with four distinct seasons.

Shanghai winter season is chilly some times temperatures drop below the freezing level at night. January and February are the coldest months of the year. Summer times are hot and humid and the city get plenty of sunshine.

Best time to visit Shanghai is in spring from March to May. But more tourist arrivals happens in summer time. Less rainfall occurs in spring time, but the summer is usually rainy period. Autumn season in Shanghai from October to November.
