Shanghai Taxies

The city of Shanghai has more than 40,000 taxis in operation. You may find that it is the easy way of transportation in the city, when compared with the other public transportation options. Its advisable o avoid traveling in peak hours from 7 am to 9 pm in the morning and 5 pm to 7 pm in the evening, unless its really necessary due the traffic congessions.

You can easily flag down taxis from Shanghai streets, or even call and book them.

One of he major problem you may face in travailing in Shanghai taxis is that the driver can't speak with you in English. It always advisable to carry your hotel name card, written in Chinese language. If you want to go any specific place, get somebody's help to write the destination in Chinese language and show that to the driver.
