Skansen Open Air Museum
   
Skansen open air museums open in year 1891 and the founder was
Artur Hazelius. This was the world's first open air museum and located in a former
Royal Park of Djurgården. The idea of the founder was to preserve old day life Sweden
to the modern generation.
    Skansen museums spreads across 75 acre land and they tried to replicate the old day Swedish
town.
This was originally a part of the Nordic Museum. But now functioning as a independent
entity. You can see more than 150 historical buildings, belonging to different
parts of the Sweden. Most popular places ones are The Lodge - Information Center,
Town Quarter and the Countryside.
    There is a small zoo in Skansen Open Air Museum, Where animals like lynx, red fox, bison, Eagle
Owl and brown bear can be seen. This is a good place for kids.
    You don't have to do any advance booking for entering to Skansen. You can buy tickets
from the entrance by paying by cash or credit cards. Skansen museum entrance fees
depends on the dates and events. Most updated information can be taken from their web site.
There are many restaurants with different types of dishes. You will find shops selling different types
of items such as souvenirs, pottery, glasswort and ironware.
