Taipei Metro System
Taipei metro system ( MRT) is the cheapest and easiest way of traveling, avoiding the
city traffic. This service is very popular among the locals as well as the tourists.
Taipei metro system operates from 6.00 ma to mid night. If you are new to the Taipei
Metro system,
it is advisable to get the metro map, before you start your journey. English line maps are
available in the trains and the station as well. The main Taipei Main Station is located in
old town center and many attractions are located around that.
Taipei Metro System Lines:
Taipei metro network is consists of 94 stations and covers the length of 106 km.
The main operating routes are are Wenshan-Neihu line, Danshui line, Xindian line, Zhonghe
line, Nangang line, Banqiao line, Tucheng line, Xiaonanmen line, Luzhou line, part of the
Xininzhuang line Taipei City Section( from Daqiaotou Station to Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station) and Nangang
eastern extension.

Taipei Subway Tickets:
There are several types of tickets available for Taipei metro system.
If you are just going a for a one destination, you can buy the one way ticket, which is
valid for one journey. Ticket price depends on the destination.
MRT one day passes allows you to have unlimited times of travel within a day. One card
is for one person and card fare includes refundable deposit.
If you buy a Taipei card, you can use it in MRT system and some other specified bus
services. These cards are available for one day, two day, three day and five day basis.
If you buy the gondola version, you are allow to use the the Maokong Gondola for three
times.
The Easy Cards also used by tourists to travel around the city.
